The Maze Runner: A Stupendous and Seamless, Mind-Boggling and Fast Paced Masterpiece

Hi Dear Readers,

Here comes another rooting for a big franchise film. The Maze Runner is undoubtedly and remarkably stupendous as it opens in the big cinemas with a big bang. As I understand it very well, it seems like we have another franchise to root for. Basically, it is something to keep reminiscing as we put our deepest thoughts to it. 

Recall, Survive and Run!!! Those words best describe the film as you follow the start till the end of it. I say "Recall" because as you have watched it, the runners enter the maze and try to remember the passage. They have been dealing with it for 3 years and they haven't found any way out. As I recall it, the need to "Survive" in a secluded place is elusive. Grievers who happen to patrol the maze are dangerous and lethal to encounter. There's no way one can survive if you get caught. The "Run" thing is very crucial as the GLADERS fight for their lives. By the way, I like the followers of The Maze Runner to be called GLADERS. 

One way or another, this has set a new trend for movie followers in this new era. Perhaps, this might be a drastic call for comedy and drama films to work harder as those kinds are being left behind, nowadays. There have been a lot of turning points for young adult movies over the past few years or even decades. It could either be a hit-or-miss kind of thing. We have seen Harry Potter, The Hunger Games and Twilight that made the hit list. But we have seen Eragon, Beautiful Creatures and Vampire Academy that made the miss list. While The Maze Runner won't reach the heights of Harry Potter, it has successfully surpassed the entire runs of the latter. Thanks to the book readers who turn out to be movie fanatics. 

The premise seems both smart, intriguing and mind-boggling. It was said that the film directed by Wes Ball bears many cruder markings of young adult fiction by a fellow movie critic. I have to admit, there have been a lot of zippy one-liners in the dialogue, blank expressions in the acting area and stuff that seem to be unnecessary which did not sound to be perfect. Nevertheless, a movie critic is not only born to give out just good points but to classify the areas for improvement. Otherwise, it will be useless to provide such points of view by then.

I have read an article stating the reasons why moviegoers have to watch THE MAZE RUNNER. I think it's quite similar that I have 7 major reasons to watch it. 

1. Basically, it is based on the best-selling young adult fiction by James Dashner. 

We have been acquainted how a young adult fiction works - it's got Sequels but most importantly, it's got a mind-boggling story to tell. From Harry Potter to Twilight and now to the current beloved, The Hunger Games, it's not new to movie fans how to deal with such a seamless performance, but The Maze Runner is not a only a story to tell from a book, it's got something new to offer. it has a very broad plot that everyone is quite clueless up to the very end of the film. 

2. A very broad plot that keeps your mind blow away.

If you have read the book, you must be quite clueless and wondering how the story will progress. Harry Potter book series is my top of the list of films that created a problem-solving art or a cryptogram that needs decoding and most of all, a climactic ending but I would like to commend The Maze Runner for breaking my idea of what a brilliant movie is all about.

3. New faces to watch out for.

Some people might be getting tired of watching the same Hollywood faces over and over again. But in this film, you will witness a pack of beautiful and new faces that would surely captivate your innocent mind. Besides, watching new faces on theaters makes you think that you could be one of them in the future. 

4. The Maze Runner has sequels which give more interesting twists.

Nowadays, some people are discouraged with how Sequels work especially the people who are not acquainted with such set up. Maybe, it's because they are not really fond of it or most probably they have not watched the first film. But in the end, the young generations especially the book readers are the ones who will be beneficial of this since they have already rooted for it since when they started reading. 

5. It is compared to a much sheer narrative power.

You will have no dull moment in watching the movie as I did not have any time to blink an eye or two because it is indeed a fast-paced and action-filled movie. Narrating a movie like that would require someone to do multitasking. 

6. They have delivered a stellar performance.

There are a lot of erroneous parts where words were jumbling. Well, you will not expect them to deliver like a pro but given the fact that most of them are new to their craft, they must be commended for giving an impressive performance. 

By the way, the surprising part is that it sets us up for the inevitable sequel which will hit theaters on September 18, 2015 according to unknown sources. 

LES MISERABLES: AN OPERA OF MASTERPIECE

Good morning my dear readers!

My apologies for not having been able to post this blog last February 16, 2013. And now, here it is! I have been waiting for this day to finish this blog about this much-awaited movie. Forgive me as I could not fathom what kind of world I was before and until now.

On the first day, I was not quite sure the reason behind the urge of doing this blog. I could not even foretell the need in such a way that I did not see it coming. I was also a bit preoccupied why I felt the need to make this blog. But of course, there were a lot of reasons I suppose. Well, perhaps, one great reason is Anne Hathaway. 

Impeccably mounted as what other critics like me would say. I was and still are very thrilled to share my thoughts of the movie everyone was talking about last year. That was my first time to watch an intense opera. It has been very sweet to do things first time around. Indeed, it's a sweet memory to ponder on. 

Box Office Record

The film has accumulated a total of $441,809,770 in worldwide ticket sales. Indeed, that was a fair amount ending for an opera. Rumor has it, that this movie would not do good in the box office but nevertheless, it was reasonably high in a good note. If you would go and pay for a movie ticket, you always wanted to make it sure that it is worth it. I, indeed witnessed why this movie was a good catch in terms of watching it. 

Film Commentary

I could not find the words to express my deepest thoughts about this movie. I was really moved by the art in this movie itself and how the characters went about living their lives in struggles and pain. It is beyond imagination how each character made their way to life. Some did not have a good ending but nevertheless, the film was able to convey the message in extraordinary ways. There are opinions I can't seem to find and hold within this tale of compassion and of love. 

I must admit that this film has its flaws despite its triumphant beginning and ending. On a personal basis, I did not see any flaws except for the cameras going from one direction to another in a fraction of a second. That I found annoying but the thing is, it made so well that I could not even have any time to put my thoughts onto it. 

Les Miserables is a tale that tells a story of a man who struggles in life. Despite all the things that made him who he is, in the end, he is someone to follow. 

I believe this film in its own populist power so earnestly that it's very difficult to resist. I found this film to be exceedingly wicked. Indeed, a brilliantly made movie. I kind of think if a worm could possibly get away from a bird when it's going to eat the helpless worm. 

To put all things up, "Les Miserables" is magnificent. 

The Film in Real Life Situations

This film made me realize what must and must not be done and most of all, somehow, you are thinking the way I think now that this film made us realize how important it is to have a life and to care for it. Who would care for you if you are taking your life for granted? Cry at the height of the pain you are going through and Laugh at the height of what seems to be the happiest day of your life. What's going on with a person's life depends on how each one does it. 

This film brings back memories of pain and struggle to me. A life of nowhere and a meaningless life. Inspired by a lot of never ending and selfless stories, I, myself have found a meaning to continue life despite obstacles that keep going my way. Besides, I am here to make this life meaningful.

IS DIVERGENT UNDOUBTEDLY AND BRILLIANTLY ACCOMPLISHED?

It has been 6 months since the last blog was posted. I have been very busy with work and I could not find enough time to gather my thoughts about creating this blog until now. Here I am again! My privilege to expand my mind of thinking about sharing my outlets for film criticism, box office commentary and film-skewing.

I am very thrilled to share my thoughts of the movie that everyone is still talking about these days. People have been thinking how it's like to watch the movie plus the fact that they would go and see it with their loved ones. After several months of waiting, Divergent has come to existence to movie theaters and the rest is history.

Several questions have been raised why the film told something differently in the movie from what was written in the book. Well, the book says something different on how the characters look like. Basically, the point of movie adaptation is to adapt what was penned in the book. It is really certain that the movie producers would like to invest money and time to beautiful people without adhering to the context of the book. However, the book is now pointless the way the film was handled and crafted at that very moment. Film-skewing is completely manifested in Divergent. But nevertheless, the movie and the people behind it got its thing going. 

Box Office Record

As of June 19 of this year, the movie has accumulated $268,218,490 in the worldwide box office mojo. This is unlikely very low compared to the other highly acclaimed adaptations. However, International fandom for the film, Divergent has been recognized by legions of media. Words have spread that this movie would take us to a whole new level of experience from that of Harry Potter, Twilight, Hunger Games and The Hobbit films. Rumor has it that this film would give a good fight in the Box Office. Unfortunately, Divergent was not able to captivate everyone's heart. Ironically and generally speaking, the ticket sales did not reflect in the number of fans of the book itself. But for some reasons, some parts of the world were able to fulfill their promise to make this film a gigantic success. 

Fandom Name

The fandom name for Divergent has been asked over the web. While the other fandom have their own nicknames which have been scattered from one group nickname to another, Divergent fans don't want to be left behind. They have the same thoughts in mind what name will they be called - INITIATES. Remember that before getting into being a full pledged member of a faction, you are what they call, Initiates. So, that is how they came up with their nickname. Let's go back to the fandom names of the previous films: Most Harry Potter fans are called Potterheads and Potterphiles while Twilight fans are called Twihards and Fanpires and Hunger Games fans call themselves Tributes and Jabberjays. Same thoughts lead to a brilliant result, indeed.

Film Commentary

The movie takes me to a whole new level of fiction-filled characters and story which gives me the opportunity to think deeply in this life. This may not be a solid effort for all the cast as the movie didn't deliver what I expected but it matters to me that the movie was able to put some things in order despite blank details in some parts of it. I have to admit that this film loses its momentum in its final act but I hope that the majority of its fans is perfectly pleased and content for what it has achieved. 

The film gives me a more interesting way of keep finding out what happens next in the upcoming two sequels. Changing scenes from the book and applying it to the movie would cause confusion in the mind of the people who have read the book. It has always been their prerogative to make changes but the people behind the scenes should think like ordinary moviegoers. Otherwise, it's senseless to change something without thinking of the significance of the changes. 

Divergent is surprisingly a disappointment to me. When I read the book, I didn't expect them to change the looks of the characters from the book. But then again, I completely understand the need for them to change some things from the book. I hope that the movie will get better as the sequel will be out soon next year. :)

The Film in Relation to Real Life Situations

Basically, this fairly-crafted movie gives me a way of thinking that everything's happening in this world is being made by men. The people who run the government and its subordinates are not understanding each other. And that leads to one thing: Chaos. This is really happening to every nation. We must fight the corrupt officials in the government who use their positions for their own gain. We must not only be aware of our responsibility as citizenry but also to stop them from doing evil deeds in the hope that everything will be okay.

It gives me a spare time to realize what options to take in this life before going through the hassle of taking them. Otherwise, I will be very vulnerable through all the courses of my actions. I never thought of believing to what they call, "LOVE". Love gives injure or pain. Oftentimes, it gives heartache or even headache. It stops you from doing what you want. It kills you metaphorically. But I got caught and I could not stop the beat of my heart. I live one day at a time to focus on what I have now. Seriously, I'm depending on things about me: My Mind, My Heart and My Faith in God. :)

THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE AND ITS PROWESS

It is my time to tell things about how I feel about THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE. 

Over the weekend, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire made its way to the big cinemas and moviegoers stood in lines so they could be among the first to see one of the most anticipated films of this year. Thanks to the fans as the movie is set to deliver a smashing box office record. The movie analysts are expecting moviegoers to empty their houses and see the movie by them. 

Speaking of fans, it has been talked on fan sites about what will the Hunger Games fandom be called? The Harry Potter fans dubbed themselves as HP Nerds, Potterphiles, Potterfans and more while the Twilight fans are called Twihards and Twifans. The web is throwing a lot of questions as to what name should the Hunger Games fandom be called? And here is what I have got when I started searching around the web. People would like Hunger Games fans be called "Tributes", "Mockingjays", "Hungry Gamers" or "Jabberjays". If I were to choose, I would say, "TRIBUTES" because the Hunger Games started by selecting 1 male and 1 female Tributes in each district. The word, "Tributes" best describes the fandom because the movie is all about surviving in the game. I hope to see the name Tributes in the coming year before the trilogy ends. :)

On November 23rd, I was able to witness a magnificent movie and it was like the Harry Potter years that made him a household name. Like Harry Potter, Katniss Everdeen has been considered as a household name because she catapulted the mind of moviegoers like me. I am compelled to express my thoughts like I was there in the movie with the characters. I admire the compassion of the characters like Finnick, Katniss and Peeta. I have always been amazed by people with compassion about some things. Their loved ones for example. They make me feel useful like I am not alone in this world. Being passionate to the things you do is really something but being compassionate is really something extraordinary. It paints my own mark in this world that whatever I do, wherever I go, I would leave my own mark to show the world how different I am from anybody else. 

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is a certified mind-boggling movie as far as relating the movie to the book that I have read. It is something that Francis Lawrence, the director himself made the movie similar to the book and he made an excellent job in doing that. I was amazed by the fact that this movie was quite different this time. I was very thrilled that if I had thought of myself being there would be unbearable and helpless yet stoic. I could not think of myself enduring the pain and hardship of being in a place like that. I felt it was hell but it feels like more than that. And the people behind the movie nailed it. I, myself compelled to believe that there is no place to go to live in there. Indeed, a terrifying truth to just face death if I was there. If you would think of what's going on with the movie, it just did not speak about facing death. It also depicts what's going on with a nation and its governance. A good leader must do what is right for his subordinates and it would yield to two things - there is no rebellion to contain and people will live in a peaceful nation. 

The movie gives justice on all of the scenes. They have shown the most important scenes in the book. And that they nailed the most part of it. I felt like in every scene it was like the climax because every scene sends shivers down my spine. It was a very fast-paced film. If you do not concentrate on what's going around, you would not be able to catch up and you would find yourself lost. What's good about me watching this movie is that I was able to compare the scenes on the movie and the book all at the same time. That's how I normally do it and Catching Fire nailed the most important details that need to be arrayed. It was very beautiful in a dramatic and eye-catching way - that is how I describe the movie. 

What comes next? The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part I. Definitely, I will start reading the book in the coming days.

A PERFECT TIME TO CONTEMPLATE ON THINGS

Dear Friends,

Sunday it is! It is my time to share my thoughts again. 

Peace is elusive in this chaotic world. Crimes are spread everywhere like there's no safe place in this society of man. While crimes are scattered almost everywhere, dreams have been shattered. Where on earth shall we find peace? How can we make this change?

Has anyone ever told you that you are in complete peace? I, myself could not even think and say that I have encountered complete peace in this journey towards life. Random occasions have passed and I could not believe that peace is very hard to find. Well, I do not have the will to find peace right at this moment because of one reason - my purpose in this life is not clear to me. How to make it clear? It's up to me. 

While I am looking for better answers to life's big questions, I am also finding a lot of time to reflect on things. Things that are very hard to grasp. Things that I always question why they exist. Things that are most likely to be unbelievable. Life is not created to loiter around the corners of this world. It is not given to humans to put it to waste. It is given to humans because there's a lifetime purpose. That is where choice comes in. A choice to seek the purpose of life. That is why life came to existence - TO CONTEMPLATE ON THINGS. 

I have been through a lot of struggles as far as trying to free my mind from thinking of anything. The more I force myself to do the things I want, the more I fail myself to be good and do good. When dealing a lot of problems,  I always find time to read books, watch good movies, buy something for myself and/or eat a lot. When I am in doubt, I find myself listening to music or just walking along the street, sitting down and breathing some fresh air. That way, I will have a chance to free my mind from thinking. That way, I am aware of the big picture of what is happening to me. 

This I can tell you: When evil thrives, bad things will follow. I think people do not understand the value of life. If they do, good things will follow along the way. And if you would notice, good things will come your way without asking those beautiful things. The thing is, people are given a brain to think and decide and a heart to balance what you are thinking so you will be able to decide what is right. If you put them together, you will be able to find a perfect time to contemplate on certain things about yourself, life or anything that concerns you. You just don't know while you are taking seriously on things, you'll find love along the way. :)

I am looking for a place where I can live in complete peace. I hope someday I will have a chance to find my way there. :)

A Thought To Ponder: 

If you think that life is giving you a lot of horrible things that you can not do or things that are way beyond your control, remember that God is always next beside you waiting for you to call His Name. Believe me, it won't hurt your BIG EGO if you put your trust in Him. It will give you more strength to fight the biggest troubles in life and carry on. Moreover, your family and friends are your supporters in this whole journey. Take all the challenges as if you are just eating them and later on let them out. At the end of the day, it is who you think of while doing the best things in life. Always think this way; Time slips away and humans do not have the power to turn back time and while it keeps running, have some time to reflect on all the things you have done in this life. :)

Wisdom: A God-Given Blessing

Good Afternoon!

A person who is being open-minded is equipped to have stupendous wisdom. Amazing people would say "Wisdom" involves being able to understand all sides of an issue without letting emotions or personal feelings get in the way. Nowadays, learning and understanding people are very broad to tackle. Each person has a life story to tell and each has its own mind to speak. But if one thoroughly examines his/herself, there might be a better way of understanding people in the long run.

I was able to meet people of different ages, faces, attitudes, dreams and all sort of things necessary to get to know a person. It's been 7 and a half months since I started doing this and here is what I found out. Before I speak my mind, I would let the other person speak first. Before I comment on a particular issue that a crowd is currently talking about, I must listen first. If I did not hear all the conversations, I might as well not to speak to avoid arguments. Before I say some things about someone, I will have to make it sure that I know myself well and that I am saying things well about myself. That way, they will never think twice whether or not I speak true to my words.

Well, maybe I still don't understand a lot of things about people like them why being bitchy is now circulated in this society. They let other people hear their big fat lies. They let other people think what they are saying is true and accurate. What if it's true then? My question is what do you get from it if all those things are true? And it's hard to understand these people who keep on murmuring if they could just bluntly tell those in front of my face. They're bluffing all along. I am just praying they won't get caught. I can sense fear running through their veins if that happens. I am thinking, they are just fed up about their own lives or they just want to taste a piece out of everything about anything. Poor little crap. Please grow up.

I am not mad at anybody. I just would like to share this to you. This is only to remind those manipulative bitches around the globe to stop what they are doing. They should know who they are. Lesson learned: It is not bad to talk to someone but be sure you get to know the person first before letting him/her into your life. You don't want to wake up one day and all of a sudden, you are being talked about by people you really don't know, right?

GOD ALWAYS TELLS US TO HELP ONE ANOTHER

God said, "YOU ARE NOT ALONE, YOU HAVE ME."

In this chaotic world where humans should be working hand in hand has been lost in the darkness for quite a very long time now. We always say things as if we do as we tell them to other people. Being blunt with the words we say is not bad at all. We must only take precautionary measures when it should be done. But sometimes, due to being blunt, we care less if we hurt someone and there's a diverse effect to the things we are doing. And therefore, people conflict on such things like they always do.

There have been a lot of scenarios where things go wrong and there have been a lot of people who contribute to make things even worse, Instead of putting things into order, they will definitely try to prolong whatever it takes for them to taste a piece of what is currently happening. And one day, worst things will happen.

And there's this bitch who says someone is being bitchy but I was really thinking, "Do you really think you're not being bitchy about yourself?"  Well, that's what a manipulative bitch does. I disgust those people who keep saying bad things about one another. Though it is not about me, I always think that one day or another these bitches will say some things behind my back as well.

Nowadays, I am really having a hard time trusting other people. But then again, I am always looking forward to having a poignant day in this entire journey. Being a positive thinker, I will always put good things into actions. But of course I have flaws, I tend to say things bluntly especially if I feel deprived of my rights to speak. Enough of that crap. haha.

Just to give you an update about the HOPES project I am currently engaging myself into, I am proud to say that I am one of those people who contribute to good things not only for myself but for other people. I love the way how things work for me because I have gained access to fully help other people. It is currently at work. I know that I am too slow in doing this project and making things happen but I am glad of its progress so far. I just want everything in place. Thank you Lord for the gift of wisdom. :)
